This colophon explains how Pen Swift is made — not as a tutorial, but as a record for readers who like knowing what sits behind a quiet page.

Every note begins on paper — a narrow notebook with a soft cover that bends in my bag. I write in indigo gel ink because it skips on damp mornings and that skip reminds me to slow down.

Typing happens later, usually at the same desk, usually before eight. The transfer is not transcription alone; sentences shorten when they meet the screen, and I let that editing stand.

The camera on my phone is old and slightly smudged. I take bad pictures on purpose, then delete most of them. Generated JPEG textures replace the ones I missed without pretending to be documentary.

Spectral carries headings because its serifs feel like the 07:40 light on this table — warm, not flashy. Inter Tight carries body copy because it reads cleanly at eighteen pixels. Space Mono carries dates and margin notes because mono keeps time honest.

The margin column exists because I always wrote notes in the side of textbooks. On paper the margin held corrections; here it holds datelines and at most one short note per article. On mobile the column collapses above the body without rotating text.

Notes appear when they appear — sometimes two in a week, sometimes none for a month. I do not schedule content because this is not a publication desk.

Mistakes are corrected when someone emails or when I reread and wince. There is no separate corrections page on this site; fixes happen inline and the build date in the footer marks the last structural review.

Maps load only with functional consent. Cookies are documented on /cookies.php. Privacy lives on /privacy.php. Both pages are long on purpose.

No affiliate links, no tool recommendations with purchase paths, no newsletter signup. The footer address is real; the voice is mine.

If the type or colours shift in a future build, this page will say why. Until then, consider the margin column a handshake — small, indigo, not a brand exercise.
